Eerie Motion

This assignment was all about exploring photography of objects in motion.  It was about being able to capture a blurred image of something moving, that gave the viewer a sense of speed.  These pictures came out very interesting because you never really knew how the picture was going to come out, and we got some pretty good results.  At first, I walked around the hallways shaking the camera in order make otherwise boring pictures( like of the window or the staircase) unique and fun.  Another approach to motion we explored was the lights in the dark.  I set my shutter speed to about 4 so that the camera captured the movement of the light.  The outcome was great with bright squiggles and shadows.

  1. I like your photo of Mr. Whiton that has the tinted color. (Number 3). It was a good idea to change the color and it's really cool how you captured that design in the air.
    Good job!

  2. I love they way you captured one main color in a lot of these while having other distractions in the background. I really like the fourth from the bottom. The circles of light with a little from the white light in between is really cool. You also did a good job capturing the lights with whoever was holding it at the same time.

  3. I really like what you did with the motion pictures, especially with the hallway. It makes the school look like a funhouse. I also like the pictures of Mr. Whiton the light really illuminates his body and the shadows. Even though you can't completely see his expressions, you can kind of guess just by the feel of the photos. You could have added one more picture showing a very abstract view of just the light to strengthen the idea of lights and their movement.

  4. I liked how the first picture is blurred but its also zig-zaged, it makes it look really cool. I also liked all the grainy looking blue picture near the end. The last picture is also interesting, because of the glow the background has and all the different lights swirling around. Its also cool how in that last picture you cant quite see the persons face (i think its me though).
